Bulldog Canyon

Michael and I went to Bulldog Canyon a couple months ago for some off-road adventuring in his Jeep. Maybe someday I'll get more pictures up. (Curse you full-time job for not leaving my any time for anything else!)

More Idaho

I've mentioned this before - I went up to Idaho for a weekend a couple months ago. My grandma got sick and I felt a strong need to go up and see her maybe one last time as I had no idea how sick she was and what would be going on later. It was intense. I stayed at her house and went to see her at the rehabilitation center everyday. My aunt and uncle were there and they were awesome enough to cook and take me out to eat and drive me around town and show me the ranch, great uncles's houses, the old high school, etc. when we weren't with my grandma. I wish I could have stayed longer and shot a few hundred rolls more...

Dining Room

My grandmother is out of the hospital and they've moved her to an assisted living place. I'm really glad I went up when I did.

First Roll

This was my first attempt to develop a roll of 120 film on my own. Yeah... I learned pretty quick what NOT to do and the next few rolls came out MUCH better.

This was one of the few frames (half frame?) on the roll that you can actually see what I intended to take a picture of. My grandparents' old farm/ranch: Mamiya 645 Pro TL  Ilford HP5+

Rocks

Whenever her kids or grandkids would come to visit and take her to the lake, my grandma would always grab a rock to bring back home. She had her rock collections by the mailbox and the front door and a couple other places. I never really understood why she did that, but now they sit in her yard as physical evidence of the many many trips she made to Lake Cleveland and City of Rocks with her family.

Slide Film!

It's been a really long time since I've shot slide film. I was looking through some old slides of mine and really liked the color so I decided I should try it again. I think I need to start shooting more of this film. I LOVE it. Also, I have awesome neighbors.

Making Time

I had been wanting to go up to Idaho to see my grandma and take some pictures of her, her house and all the places she would take us when we would go visit. I just never seemed to find the time. A few weeks ago I found out she was in the hospital. I decided I would make time right then. So that weekend I flew into Salt Lake, stayed the night at my sister's house and rented a car to drive the 3 hours to my grandma's house in Burley, ID.

I didn't get the shots I had envisioned when I first thought of going up to Idaho but I'm so glad I went. She doesn't seem to be getting any better and I don't know when I'll see her again.

I've developed a few rolls of film from that trip, but I still have some more to take to the lab and a couple I will try and develop myself. Expect to see more soon.
