This is old news but still it seems not many people are aware of why modern music sounds like garbage. Yeah, a lot of modern music is just garbage from the beginning but the way its all compressed during mastering does not help even a little. But the major record labels seem to believe we all want loud over-compressed music. Turns out the major labels don't know a lot about the business there in.

Yes! It's about damn time someone does something about this. Or a group of someones does a bunch of somethings about this. The thing that drives me nuts is the lack of dynamics. Even the quiet parts are loud. It's like they don't know that the reason that music is exciting, in a lot of cases, is the fact that one minute you need to turn your stereo up, and the next you need to turn it down.
